Bath based Interior Design Consultancy
This was a new build for the Roots Foundation charity, and was televised as a DIY SOS build during the 2017 Children In Need appeal week. This charity supports children and young people who are in the care system or who have just left it and they provide guidance on a number of topics including cookery, finance and employment.
The need here was, therefore, to provide community space which the charity could use as a place to meet young people on a weekly basis. This consisted of a hall space, offices, a therapy room and a kitchen. We also created four studio apartments for young adults to live. Each of the apartments was designed to look different from the other to allow each young person to take ownership of their own unique apartment. One apartment had a botanical style with woven rattan textures and natural green and yellow tones throughout it whilst another had dark grey walls to create depth with jewel-coloured furniture to pop against the walls to brighten up the room.
